A: This is a common question, and the answer is... maybe. In theory, Kegel balls can help strengthen your pelvic floor muscles, and this may result in a feeling of being tighter in your vaginal area since stronger muscles have more tone.

A: The best way to avoid overusing Kegel balls is to make sure you're doing them correctly and using the correct weight and size ball for your body. It's also important to make sure you're not keeping the balls in for too long.

A: Kegel exercises won't help you look better, but they do something just as important — strengthen the muscles that support the bladder. Strong pelvic floor muscles can go a long way toward warding off incontinence.

A: Kegel exercises combined with electrical stimulation have a good therapeutic effect on postpartum pelvic floor dysfunction, which can markedly improve PFM strength and vaginal pressure.

A: The benefit of doing Kegels occurs in the pelvic floor muscle, the one you used when you stopped the flow of urine. Over time it will become stronger. By squeezing that muscle during intercourse, your male partner should feel some added sensation and that might make sex better for him.

A: If you feel like the Kegel balls are falling out, push them deeper into the vaginal canal. You need not worry about them going too far. Make sure the string stays outside (which is similar to a tampon string). Follow the similar procedure of insertion for the second Kegel ball.

A: Another common question is “can you sleep with kegel weights?” Similarly, we do NOT recommend that people sleep with kegel weights to prevent overexertion.
